JR Kennels

Purebred Rottweilers.

History

ONE OF THE WORLD'S most popular breeds comes from his German homeland and dates back to the 12th century where the breed traces it's name to the town of Rottweil. This was a cultural trade center big in the cattle industry. The dogs were used to drive cattle to and from the markets and became known as "Butchers dogs." There isn't a Rottweiler alive today that can resist a good beef shank or knuckle bone!

Around 1910 they first started to arrive in America. Today he is still used for a wide variety of tasks. A Rottweiler's versatility can be observed in police work, rescue, guard, herding cattle, pulling carts, agility, obedience and show. Their loyalty to their owner is second to none. The Rottweiler would be much happier outside with his master rather than sitting inside by the fire alone.

The character and temperament of the Rottweiler according to the AKC Breed Standards reads: "The Rottweiler is a basically calm, confident, and courageous dog with a self assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships. A Rottweiler is self-confident, and responds quietly and with a wait-and-see attitude to influences in his environment. He has an inherent desire to protect home and family, and is an intelligent dog of extreme hardiness and adaptability with a strong willingness to work, making him especially suited as a companion, guardian, and general all-purpose dog.

"Every animal of the forest is mine and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the fields are mine." - Psalm 50:10

We are proud to introduce our first stud:

Baron Wolfgang's Moses Tyler

"Moses" is a German Bloodline Rottweiler. We are attempting to breed Rottweilers that are free of Genetic Problems and are more hardy. Our primary concern is a healthy, sociable, family oriented and intelligent dog that loves to work. While attempting to maintain the larger German build.
